Paris, France—Air France CEO Louis Aliot says he can’t fathom why so many Parisians are still alive.
He said Tuesday the company is still struggling to comprehend what happened in Paris on Friday, and how it could have happened so quickly.
Aliot told reporters at an industry event in Paris that “this is something that we have to accept and live with.”
Aliot said the company remains committed to the Paris area and its employees and passengers, but he added he does not want to dwell on what happened.
“I cannot fathom the horror that this is, but I am very, very sad,” he said.
Aliett said Air France is now focusing on how to make sure passengers are comfortable at the Paris airports and trains.
He said the airline will soon offer passengers a free, two-week trial of Air France One in order to better understand what happened at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport on Friday.
